Step 1 : Company Assessment : Identify the potential for improvements through undertaking operational due diligence

cross-functional team is mobilised to analyze and understand the current state of the operation and its key business drivers
and to give an independent evaluation. This could be a ‘quick scan’ or a more in-depth assessment. This analysis of the current
state is used as the basis to identify the potential for improvements to transform the business to an ideal (future) state. Key elements
in this first step:
· Understanding of the customer’s needs, strategic needs for change
· Lean assessment
· Assessment of Management and the Organization
· Strategy Review
· Margin/Profitability/Portfolio analysis
· Costing analysis
· General overheads assessment
· Description of the future (ideal) state
